He was a British Army officer famous especially for his playing an important role in the Arab Revolt against Ottoman Turkish rule of 1916–18
He was born on the 16th of August 1888 in Tremadog, Caernarfonshire (now Gwynedd), Wales. His parents were Sir Thomas Chapman and Sarah Junner, a governess.
In 1908 he joined Oxford University Training Corps and took a 2- year training course. In January 1914, before World War I, Lawrence was selected by the British Army to start a military survey of the Negev Desert while doing archaeological research.He joined the Arab Revolt as a political liaison officer
He wasn't happy with his fame and changed his name to TE Shaw after WWI
On May 13th Lawrence took his motorbike to Bovington Post Office to send mail to a friend and Henry Williamson. On his way back he swerved to avoid two boy cyclists and was thrown from his machine. He was in a coma for six days and died on 19 May. He is buried at St Nicholas' Church in Moreton on 21 May.
