Kingsley Martin
Hello my name is Kingsley Martin and I write to you still alive. This is day 130 in the Great War; we have lost 65,000 soldiers who were so brave and fought for our country. Was I going to join the war you ask? No o God no I was and still am opposed of the British getting involved; because I highly think it's none of our business. I refuse to serve in the armed forces and kill innocent people, but I am willing to carry out non-military duties.

War
War is the conflict of nations
War is something that has no patience
War is fear
War is approaching near
War is something that brings many tears
War is pain
War is something that is directed in one lane
War is an untamed beast
War is soon to be unleashed
War is defeat
They may or may not be beat
War is mean
War is something that involves teens
War is a struggle
War scraps up all the bodies with a shovel
War is strife
War has taken many lives

Dear Journal,
We want to battle again today, it was quite crazy if you ask me. I honestly didn’t want to go, I thought it’d be better if we’d stay in the camp today to practice some of our shooting but the other commander wouldn’t listen to me. I told him he was absurd if he thought we were going to actually win the battle. I knew going into the battle we weren’t going to win. None of our men were ready so let me tell you exactly how it went down. I woke up this morning and when I did, I did my daily routine. This consisted of me going to find some breakfast but also putting on clothes, taking a shower, and head out to the field to practice.
I was talking to one of my buddies, Mike, he usually sits by me at breakfast. That’s our schedule every morning I know who to count on to sit with me. When I got to our table today he had a worried look on his face, I asked if everything was okay. I didn’t want to be a friend and see him hurting and not doing anything about it, well it comes to see that there was rumor going around the camp we were going out to battle today. I told him that it couldn’t be true because someone would’ve informed me so he just misunderstood whatever it was someone was telling him. Sad thing was, they were right. Before I could get another word out a horn was being blown all across the camp letting us soldiers know it was time to man our stations because we were about to go to war. Dropping everything I was doing I ran out to my horse to get ready to go out and fight the war for my home country. I’m here to tell you, that we came back to the camp with about a third of our soldiers dead. What is really the big pain in all of this is that I made it, but Mike didn’t. I once again lost another friend of mine. Thanks for listening journal it’s nice to know that I can talk to someone without being critique.
